Taking Lives
There is a serial killer traveling through Canada and possibly stealing the identities of his victims. After a long time, investigations into those serious cases of this serial killer began in Montreal within the FBI. Elena Scott is investigating but the local police may have doubts about her direction because of her investigative style. Scott begins to approach art dealer James Costa, who says he is an eyewitness to the latest murder. They both begin to approach when Costa becomes very important in capturing the killer and perhaps there will be a romantic side.

From the opening credits, it was nearly impossible to shake the feeling that Taking Lives was desperately trying to be the next Seven.March 19, 2004
While not breaking any new ground, director D.J. Caruso's movie also doesn't disappoint.March 21, 2004
Jolie is far too good for this tripe but she does give the film its only believable moments, and for the first half, her concentration makes you watch her intently.May 20, 2009
Willfully stupid and obvious for most of its running time, this serial-killer thriller lulls the audience into one gasp-worthy, rug-pulling moment that, while stupid, isn't exactly obvious. [Blu-ray]March 19, 2004
Nosedive it does, abandoning all pretense of style and eccentricity for at-times laughable predictability.March 19, 2004
Caruso is a much more resourceful director than this material deserves, but I resented being two steps ahead of the genius profiler and the genius serial-killer.March 25, 2004
If you can buy the pillow-lipped Angelina Jolie as a psychic FBI agent in Montreal to hunt a serial killer, then you can swallow the other implausibilities in this retread thriller.
